3 cups all-purpose flour plus more as needed ▢1/2 cup milk warmed ▢4 tablespoons butter melted ▢1/2 cup warm water ▢2 tablespoons sugar ▢1 1/4 teaspoons salt ▢2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast one packet
Add the flour, milk, butter, hot water, sugar, salt, and yeast to a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix until the dough starts to come together and pull away from the sides of the bowl, adding additional flour as needed to make a smooth dough.
Transfer the dough to a greased or lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and pliable. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
Gently punch the dough down and roll it out into a 9 x 13 rectangle. Roll up the dough into a log starting on the shorter side. Place the dough in a greased bread pan seam side down, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Toward the end of the rise time, preheat the oven to 350. After the dough has risen, bake 30-35 minutes, until golden brown on top.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a rack before slicing and serving.
